Permits and Permissions

Permits or approvals may be required from CASA or landowners, based on your project's location. As this can increase time and costs, I will inform you in advance if any approvals are necessary.

CASA Remote Pilot Certified (RePL):

To operate professionally as a drone pilot in Australia, being RePL certified is very important. RePL certification allows me to seek permission from CASA to fly in controlled airspace (e.g., within 5km of an airport), which is important in Darwin due to the closeness to the airport of industrial areas and residential areas.

CASA Remote Operator Certified (ReOC):

ReOC certification allows me to apply for CASA approvals for operating near airports and conducting night flights (with permission) and to conduct commercial drone operations legally. Many clients require you to operate as a ReOC to ensure compliance and professionalism, these include; Darwin Council, Darwin Waterfront and Darwin Airport Development Group.

Fully White Card Construction Site Certified

Officially known as the ‘General Construction Induction Card’, a ‘White Card’ certification is mandatory for anyone working on a construction site in Australia.
